I've worked with a few UX engineers over the length of my career and it's extremely rare to find one who not only has a great ability to create a good vision for how an interface should work, but can actually mock it up graphically and functionally (with HTML and CSS). My UI developers had to make very few changes to the HTML and CSS that Dave created. Customer feedback from the interfaces Dave designed has always been positive. He's an incredibly hard worker and extremely talented.
I worked with Dave when I was first out of college. I was so lucky to train under someone with such high personal, and professional standards. It has had a lasting affect on me. He takes the time to make his projects pixel perfect. And takes time to get to know everyone. Since leaving CirclePix, David has shared many of his projects as he works with different companies. Met with key constituents to define project goals and requirements. Mapped out the customers’ journey by examining the projects present state, highlighting pain points and uncovering the most significant opportunities for building a better experience for the customer. Do I have a disease? Should I treat this disease? How should I treat this disease? They do this in six medical specialties which include Oncology, Preventive Care, Urology, Dermatology, Autoimmune, and Neuroscience. Myriad leads the way in molecular diagnostic tests for hereditary cancer, urological cancer, lung cancer, autoimmune disorders and other diseases.
Interpreted analytical data and gained insight from user research to create the visual design of the company’s digital assets including websites, landing pages, kiosks, and email templates. Created workflows, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes in order to evaluate and work through usability issues and get approval from project stakeholders.
Produced compelling visual designs which effectively promoted the company’s marketing campaign initiatives, improved sales, and significantly increased online interaction with their e-commerce solutions. These engaging and strategic websites included the A.G.E. Foundation, TruAge, Morinda Newsroom, and the re-design of their corporate website utilizing web accessibility standards (which was successfully translated into over 100 countries’ native languages). I also developed successful UI designs for their new order/payment kiosk system and web applications and worked closely with their creative team to help define the company's new brand.

Created the information architecture and design for the company’s new corporate website by analyzing analytical data, conducting user research, building an aesthetic visual design, and performing usability testing. Developed all front-end code for the website and also performed cross-browser testing to ensure a consistent visual presentation of the design. TopVue Defense was acquired by Compusearch® on Jan. 13, 2015 and have combined businesses to become the leading provider of solutions for DoD program managers and acquisition professionalism.
Developed interactive Flash based e-learning training courses. Designed clean user interfaces, visually engaging graphics, animations, simulations, interactive assessments.
While working on EM-Assist's Mindivity team I was able to assist in the design and development of multiple key environmental training products for their high profile customers. I came up with an innovative process to embed documents into their training software. The UI designs and environmental e-learning training software I helped to create was very effective in training, testing, and informing users on their important environmental objectives.
Cardno Acquires US Government Environmental Consulting Firm EM-Assist
On Mar. 7, 2012 international infrastructure and environment services group, Cardno Limited announced the acquisition of EM-Assist, Inc. a 150-person environmental services and compliance management firm.
I served as the webmaster of the corporate training department’s intranet website and headed the employee training efforts and administration of their Learning Management System (LMS). Communicated effectively with all levels of management to gather content and training materials needed to develop the e-learning training courses and test the knowledge of the employees while maintaining compliance with regulations. Designed marketing materials, banners, created PowerPoint/Flash presentations and interactive tutorials.
During my time at America First our team won several awards at the company's year-end celebration party in 2006 for Outstanding Training Technology and Exceptional Training Services.
America First is one of the largest, most stable, and most progressive credit unions in the United States.
Led a team of animators in the design and development of interactive animations, graphics, and illustrations. Communicated clearly with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Effectively collaborated with content creation specialists to transfer their vision of user interaction into a creative and animated training experience.
Selected by ELLIS as a contract Flash animator, I was assigned to a pilot project needed to secure the contract for the Mexican Government's Encyclomedia project. ELLIS was awarded the multi-million dollar contract and tasked with creating the English Language Learning portion of the software product. Due to the creative and interactive animations I was able to produce for the pilot project I was offered a full time position with the company and later received high recognition from our CEO on my valuable and creative contributions to the team.
The Encyclomedia program was used by over 5,000,000 students in over 167,000 schools in Mexico. On-site user testing, showed a significant increase in student engagement and reading comprehension.
ELLIS Inc. is Acquired and Integrated with Pearson Digital Learning's Digital Curriculum Solutions
Award winning English Language Learning Instructional Solutions company ELLIS Inc. a 16-year-old Utah company that had 40 employees and an annual sales of $7 million was acquired by Pearson Digital Learning on Jun. 28, 2006.
Rohit Patel, CEO of ELLIS said, "The quality and effectiveness of the ELLIS products have been validated by the success of our customers around the world. ELLIS' award-winning learning products are sold to schools, universities, governments and language learning centers worldwide and will be implemented in numerous primary schools in Mexico this fall."
I created and maintained multiple interactive websites for Weber State University. Conducted user research by interviewing students and staff members in order to identify the user’s goals, expectations, pain points, and how the user interacted with the organization. Photographed students engaged in campus events and activities and integrated the photos into the website designs. Students became actively engaged online and effectively found and interacted with the website’s information, activities, and services.
I was privileged to be hired to create several key websites for their Shepherd Union building to help drive online engagement. The websites were very successful and led to a 50% increase in online student engagement.
